What is NGS?

Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), massively parallel sequencing, or deep sequencing is a technology that enables millions of DNA copies to be sequenced in parallel, for example by sequencing by synthesis (SBS by fluorescent signal detection) or compared to traditional Sanger sequencing where one copy of DNA is sequenced by terminator incorporation.
