News Background

Oxford, UK – 24 March 2021. OGT, a Sysmex Group Company, is today unveiling a brand refresh and new integrated website that reaffirms and pledges its commitment to delivering partnership, innovation and expertise to scientists and clinical decision makers worldwide. The new integrated website reflects this commitment by delivering substantial resources, support and tools along with an intuitive and seamless customer journey.

The brand refresh has been driven by a desire to fully integrate the company’s three well-known brands of innovative genomics solutions—CytoCell® FISH probes, CytoSure® array and NGS products and SureSeq™ NGS panels—to enhance customer experience, but also to crystalize and communicate OGT’s drive and dedication to helping its customers progress genetic-based medicine. This is something that the company is already well known for—in particular the level of expertise of its staff—as Dr Adam Smith, Director at the Cancer Cytogenetics Laboratory, University Health Network in Toronto noted, “OGT provides industry best customer service. Our use of CytoCell probes is in no small part due to the excellent service, delivery speed and rapid response to any technical problem we have.”

The company’s new tag-line—What binds us, makes us—is an elegant summation of OGT’s mission to offer partnership to its customers, and its vision that sharing knowledge and expertise is key to unlocking the future of genetic clinical care and improving patient lives. As true pioneers in hybridization technology (OGT was founded by Professor Sir Edwin Southern, creator of the Southern blot) the tag-line also reflects this unique and extensive hybridization expertise that runs through the core of the company and indeed its entire product portfolio.

The messaging is evidenced by the extensive support provided by OGT scientists during the COVID-19 pandemic. John Anson, CEO of OGT commented: “Our team of scientists quickly adapted to delivering above-and-beyond remote support—providing technical check-ins, troubleshooting, workflow optimization and video calls to assist with training. In one instance a member of our team even watched a robot run an assay via video for a number of hours to help troubleshoot. It’s remarkable because while we’ve always had this level of commitment to our customers, we had to find new approaches to be able to provide the same levels of support. While this has been a real strength during COVID-19, it’s our pledge that it will reach far, far beyond. Our brand refresh and new website underline partnership as a key approach that we’re very much dedicated to.”

Further evidencing OGT’s commitment to customer support, the new website provides customers with substantial education and resources sections. The search function has also been updated to allow filtering of products by disease, gene or chromosome of interest and OGT’s entire range of FISH, NGS and array products are now listed with easy access to associated documentation, including instructions for use, certificates of analysis and product brochures.

As part of the Sysmex group, OGT’s reach is significant, enabling it to bring its offer of partnership to researchers and clinicians worldwide and deliver these partners the tools and support they need to advance genomic medicine.
